This informative workshop provides the training you need to choose and develop a meditation practice that works for you. You will learn about the health benefits of a consistent meditation practice and try different techniques. We will sample three meditation practices: Loving Kindness Meditation to reduce self-critical thoughts and replace them with kindness and compassion, Guided Meditation for deep rest, replenishment and healing, and Mindfulness Meditation to hone our ability to be present, to connect and experience life in its fullness. Movement therapy distills the essence of yogic principles into a simplified set of gentle, meditative movements paired with breathing techniques. The environment empowers the client as they determine their comfort zone, rate of investigation, and intensity of focus. This explorative practice reduces the symptoms of anxiety and depression and eases the physical symptoms that often accompany them.

Breathing well moderates elevated body responses, delivering us from a state of agitation to a state of rest, calm, and healing. Various breath techniques will be woven into the practice. This class is designed to combat professional burnout. It is open to psychotherapists, social workers, counselors, or other support staff in the therapeutic caring field. This is the place to refill your well. A quieting practice to develop intuition, restore calm, and hone awareness.
