Movement Classes to Support Life Balance
Movement Classes to Support Life Balance
Movement therapy distills the essence of yogic principles into a simplified set of gentle, meditative movements paired with breathing techniques. The environment empowers the client as they determine their comfort zone, rate of investigation, and intensity of focus. This explorative practice reduces the symptoms of anxiety and depression and eases the physical symptoms that often accompany them.
It all begins with the breath. Breath proficiency is the main goal of movement therapy. Breathing well moderates elevated body responses, delivering us from a state of agitation to a state of rest, calm, and healing. Various breath techniques will be woven into the practice. The techniques are simple but profound and will support well-being beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
Balance comes when we consider the person from all dimensions. Movement therapy honors our unique biology and biography. You deserve a practice that meets your specific needs. Balance is not a final destination. It is continuous and fluid. A key to balance is to develop skills that support one's resiliency, curiosity, and strength in an ever-changing, challenging, and beautiful world.
